Brewers Fans, Meet Your Ace

Jacob Misiorowski overpowered the Phillies with a historic one-hit shutout last night, pairing a 104 mph fastball with pinpoint command in the most overwhelming start of the 2026 season.

Jacob Misiorowski, the 6’7”, 201‑pound ace of the Milwaukee Brewers, delivered the most dominant outing of his young career — a surgical, suffocating masterpiece powered by blistering fastballs that touched 104 mph against one of the most dangerous top‑threes in baseball. It was, without question, the most impressive start in MLB this season.

He threw a complete‑game, one‑hit shutout with 15 strikeouts and zero walks, earning his eighth win (against two losses) and lowering his MLB‑best ERA to 1.34. Misiorowski didn’t just beat the Phillies. He erased them.

His performance was historic. With just 95 pitches, Misiorowski set the MLB record for the most strikeouts ever recorded in a sub-100 pitch game.

He set the tone immediately, striking out the side in the first inning — Kyle Schwarber, Trea Turner, and Bryce Harper all went down swinging. It was the kind of inning that tells a lineup, “You’re mine tonight.”

The Phillies never recovered.

Of Misiorowski’s 15 strikeouts, 12 were swinging and three were looking. The lone hit came from Schwarber — a single to center in the fourth. After that, Misiorowski retired 16 of the final 17 hitters, seven of them by strikeout.

This is the outing Brewers fans have been waiting for.

Misiorowski’s stuff has always been elite. The question was: When does the command catch up?

Last night, it did.

He faced 29 hitters and didn’t walk a single one. Even more impressive:

  • Only three hitters reached a three‑ball count.

  • He threw 72% strikes after the first inning.

  • He lived in the zone without fear.

This is the difference between a “stuff prospect” and a frontline starter.

In today’s game, most starters fade after 80 pitches. Misiorowski got stronger. Over innings 7–9, he punched out three more hitters and induced five groundouts and one flyout. He still had 97–100 mph in the tank, paired with elite command.

Jacob Misiorowski didn’t just dominate the Phillies — he dismantled them, carving through a star‑studded lineup. This is the kind of outing that forces opponents to recalibrate their scouting reports. The kind that becomes a reference point in a Cy Young campaign. The kind that tells a fanbase:

“We have an ace.”

Misiorowski’s start to the 2026 season didn’t meet the standard he’s now setting. On April 19, his record fell to 1–2 after a loss in Miami — a game where he struck out nine in five innings but allowed two unearned runs in a 5–3 defeat.

Since that night, he’s been the best pitcher in baseball.

He’s 7–0 in his last nine starts with 89 strikeouts, 10 walks, and only 25 hits allowed in 60.1 innings. His ERA over that stretch is a microscopic 0.60.

He was the most dominant pitcher in MLB during May: 5–0, 57 strikeouts, 38.1 IP, just 14 hits and 6 walks.

Overall, he has 131 strikeouts in 87 innings — a staggering 13.6 K/9, both marks leading all of baseball.

He’s putting the league on notice. Misiorowski has established himself as an unquestionable contender for the National League Cy Young Award — and, alongside Pirates ace Paul Skenes, one of the two best pitchers in the sport.
